Belarus Children update

The children and interpreters from Belarus have been with us now for nearly 2 weeks. This week they visited St Anne’s and had a very enjoyable day on the beach making castles. An attempt was made to reach the sea itself, but after a 25 minute walk the sea appeared to be as far away as ever! There was a stop at Lowther Gardens in Lytham for ice creams and then the group headed back to Mt Chapel.

This week there has been a swimming session and a football session. Praise God for the superb weather.

World Cup BBQ at Mount Chapel

Attention all Mount Chapelians! We’ll be showing the England vs Germany game after the morning service this Sunday (27th June). A barbecue will be provided, although it would be great if you could bring drinks, salads and desserts. Also bring any exotic meats or vegetarian options if needed.

We’re expecting good weather so don’t forget your sun cream and holy roll-on. Oh, and no vuvuzelas, please. Come on England!

Michael Larson feedback

We had a great night of worship with Michael Larson last night and from the feedback we have received so far it sounds like people were really blessed by the visit. Thanks to everyone who came and to those who were involved and helped to make it a great night. Michael Larson has said on Twitter that it was an amazing night and he was really encouraged to hear everyone singing.

Belarus Children arrive

The Belarus children arrived today at Manchester Airport terminal 2 after a 3 hours and 15 minutes flight from Minsk. It was great to see their smiley faces and welcome them for their final visit. They are now safely housed with their host families who were all waiting to greet them at Mount Chapel. The 2 interpreters this year are Natasha and Svetlana. Natasha has been on all 5 visits over the last 5 years, while for Svetlana this is her first time with us, though she has been to England before with other groups. We thank God for their safe arrival and pray that this visit will be a blessing to them all.

They will be going to Prestatyn on Wednesday for a full day out at the seaside.
