Final Farewells

The Belarussian children and interpreters flew back to Minsk on Monday afternoon amid emotional scenes both at Mount Chapel and at Terminal 2. It was the fifth and final time they have spent a month with us and what a tremendous privilege it has been for the church.

When the idea was launched 5 years ago the response to the call was immediate and enthusiastic. So many have worked tirelessly to see that the venture succeeded. It has been very fulfilling to see this desire to show kindness and compassion to a specific group of children realised in our own local setting.

We pray that the physical and spiritual benefits to the children will be of eternal consequence and are thankful that the joy they brought to us was immeasurable.

Well done church.

Ah, Sunday morning was sad enough, can only imagine how Monday went!

A massive thanks to all those involved, in whatever capacity, in seeing this commitment through. Nice work, dudes :) I am sure that the last 5 yearly visits will continue to play a huge part in the lives of the kids.

What a wonderful, Blessed last five years we have had at Mount Chapel, privileged to have the Belarus children in our midst. Thanks to the Organisers,Hosts and their families, people who gave their time and energy to raise money to bring the chidren over each year, authorities in Belarus who made the trips possible, the Interpreters and not least the children themselves…thanks to God, lots of lives have been touched for ever.

I’m so glad to have been a part of their lives and will be very sad to not be able to see them again. Luckily I have some great pics and memories.
Please keep me informed of their progress and if there are to be any other visits with focc Salford.
    God Bless them all xxx
